The Microsoft Dynamics Lifecycle Services team is happy to announce the immediate availability of the July release of Lifecycle Services.


NEW FEATURES

  • The Business process modeler now includes a new, discrete manufacturing APQC library.
  • The License sizing estimator now generates a report that shows actual license usage for connected environments.
  • The System diagnostic service has been updated to include support for SQL Server 2014.
  • The System diagnostic service has been updated to improve connectivity for connections behind proxies.
  • The Cloud powered support tool now displays premier support cases.
  • The Cloud hosted environments tool now enables you to turn on/off Azure virtual machines.
  • The Cloud hosted environments tool now provides links that enable you to connect to Azure virtual machines (via .rdp files).
  • The session inactivity time-out period has been increased to 12 hours.

The Microsoft Dynamics Lifecycle Services team is happy to announce the immediate availability of the August release of Lifecycle Services.

 

NEW FEATURES

  • The Business process modeler now only allows libraries to be copied, "Adding" is no longer available.
  • The Business process modeler now supports uploading Visio diagrams into process libraries.
  • The Cloud hosted environments tool now has:
    • A new development and testing (5 box) environment.
    • Several new retail environments.
    • A choice of how many virtual machines and their size when you are deploying.
    • Option to specify a domain name and VNET name you want to deploy to.
  • The Issue search tool now includes proactive fixes released by Microsoft.
  • Nearly 300 error messages have been rewritten to be more clear and helpful.

Notification: System diagnostic “Test permissions” Error

The “Test permissions” button in the System diagnostic on-premise component installer is currently not working. If you click it, you will see the following error message.

We’ll be addressing this error soon—it does not affect the installation of the System diagnostic on premise component or any functionality.

NEW FEATURES

  • The Cloud hosted environments tool now has customizable settings for domains, virtual networks, and user accounts
  • The Business process modeler now includes a new, process manufacturing APQC library.
  • The Issue search tool now shows planned and open regulatory features, and includes searchable resources for:
    • Regulatory feature updates
    • Regulatory white papers, registrations, and reports
  • The Infrastructure estimator tool has:
    • Become an independent tool, that can be accessed outside of the Usage profiler
    • Added sizing for non-production environments (Dev/Test/Training)
  • The Upgrade analysis tool has new summary information in the report
  • Support for Safari (v5.1.7) and Firefox (v32) has been added

 

 


Resolved: Cloud-hosted environment errors for some users

We have resolved two different issues impacting some user's ability to use Cloud Hosted environment management features. The issues resolved were:

 

Issue: “You can’t update the deployment at this time. Please wait for a moment, and then try again. If the issue persists, contact support”.

Scenario: You created a Lifecycle Services project. In the LCS Cloud-hosted environments portal you start deploying an environment, and receive the error above after clicking +.

 

Issue: “An error has occurred.  This error has been logged in our datacenter”

Scenario: You created a Lifecycle Services project. In the LCS Cloud-hosted environments portal you start deploying an environment, and receive the error above after clicking +, selecting a topology, and then clicking Next.  

 

 

We apologize if these issues impacted you. 

 

Resolved: Customization analysis issue for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2

UPDATE: This issue is now resolved.  Customization Analysis service is now functioning normally. 


We are aware of an issue where the Customization Analysis service is not processing AX 2012 R2 jobs. We are actively investigating this issue.

You can continue submitting new jobs, which  will be added to the queue and will be picked up for processing as soon as the service is back online.

Resolved: Notification: LCS Service Access Restored for Partners

Microsoft has restored access to LCS for Partner users at 07:30 USA PDT.

Following a service update yesterday, Partner users were not able to access the site. The Service Engineering team took action to mitigation the situation and restore access to Partners. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We will be following up on our internal processes to identify changes that need to be made to protect against this in the future.

NEW FEATURES

  • In Business process modeler, you can now:
    • Search for business processes and artifacts
    • Reorder tasks in hierarchies
       
  • The Configuration manager tool has been released in beta. It allows you to:
    • Save configurations, and store them locally or in the cloud
    • Copy a configuration from one system to another
  • The Customization analysis service has an improved report that provides a heat map for
    • Estimated performance impact
    • Estimated functional impact
    • Rule reliability
    • Estimated effort to fix an issue
       
  • The Upgrade analysis tool now includes an impact analysis heat map
     
  • We have provided more informative and actionable error messages to handle common scenarios that users may encounter when signing in to Lifecycle Services, such as expired services plans.

The Microsoft Dynamics Lifecycle Services team is happy to announce the immediate availability of the November release of Lifecycle Services.

 

PREVIEW RELEASE

This release includes a reworked experience with several preview features. These include:

  • A new Methodology tool for projects
    • A starter methodology is provided, called Sure Step Agile
    • You can attach templates, and documents to task
    • You can create your own methodologies
  • SharePoint Online integration for document storage
  • Visual Studio Online Team Foundation Server integration for tracking tasks and bugs
  • Reworked project user management, invitation process, and streamlined project types
  • A new Downloadable tools section, where you can find the tools that were previously available on InformationSource. The content that was previously hosted on InformationSource is available on CustomerSource, here.

 

NEW FEATURES

  • A reworked sign in page where you can now:
    • Learn about Lifecycle Services
    • Find marketing content to share
  • Issue search now supports filtering of product issues by :
    • Module
    • Country
    • Configuration key
    • Industry

The SSL 3.0 vulnerability referenced in the Security Advisory 3009008, also known as “Poodle”, has received a significant amount of attention. While the discovered issue is specific to SSL 3.0, many customers are wondering whether this affects Microsoft’s offerings, specifically Microsoft Dynamics online services.

Recommended Client Side Remediation

It is also highly recommended that you update your browser to disable SSL 3.0 and leverage TLS.  Please follow the provided links for more information on how to mitigate within the following browsers

Note      In addition to securing your client side browsers, we also recommend that all customers who are using a mobile platform and may be vulnerable, follow the guidance from their mobile operating system provider. 

Additional Information

The following resources provide guidance for customers and administrators to ensure clients are utilizing TLS 1.0 or higher and to disable SSL 3.0 proactively.

  • You, as an individual, can use the Fix it, which is available for all supported versions of IE, to disable SSL 3.0 in your browser and help ensure you are protected from this vulnerability.
  • For managed desktop environments, this TechNet article provides guidance on how to determine if your environment has users connecting via SSL 3.0. If any users are identified, Security Advisory 3009008 provides guidance on how to apply a group policy to update the settings.
